Upon the request of the young brahmana, Gopa Kumar relates his own story of perfection. He tells the brahmana how he met his guru:

"One day, meeting me on the shore of the Yamuna, he embraced me and spoke in this way: 'My dear child, if you want to fulfill all your desires, please bathe at Keshi-ghata and then accept from me this mercy of the Lord of the universe.'
Thus after I bathed, he imparted to me the same mantra you are chanting."
