Krishna and Balaram
oil on canvas (2001)
43 x 59 cm

Scriptural reference:

While Krishna was staying in Dwaraka, He was not able to tolerate the separation from His devotess in Vrindavan. Therefore Vishvakarma, the architect of the heavenly planets, build an exact replica of Vrindavan, Nava-Vrindavan.
Once, upon hearing about His devotees in Vrindavan, Krishna became overwhelmed by ecstasy and fainted. After some time His brother Balaram came to wake Him up to bring Him to Nava-Vrindavan, preparing Him for His pastimes as a cowherd boy.
